The format 16-bit PCM / 44.1kHz was a mistake? Many people still prefer the “black disc”, claiming the inability of the Compact disc mimics the feel of a bow on a violin string, this just to give an example. It has been more than 30 years and this belief, common place, was that, while the oversampling and digital filter has spread anywhere up to end up in the bottom of your pockets, or in smartphones…
Another interesting fact, comes from the switch to digital television, since that time many people have had difficulty hearing to follow the news or their favorite TV series.
The answer to all these auditory dysfunction, is simply given by ‘incompatibility of digital filtering (finite or infinite impulse response) with the human auditory system.
It took many years of work, for Helixir engineers who closely and with the valuable contribution of doctors have created the first digital filter consistent with our auditory system. “Natural Advanced Digital Filter” lets you hear the digital sound is not how it was just past “in a mill”, but with a surprisingly analog audio, hot, percussion and bow touches like never heard before.
The other difficulty of the external DAC, is in the SPDIF signal. The jitter, the known phenomenon of fluctuation, as well as the quality of the cable transmission line used, possibly greatly influence the sound reproduction … It ‘important to note that the arrival of the digital was particularly justified to overcome the problems of transmission of analog lines, a situation which in practice did not take place. Even switching from one cable to another to be convinced. And yet, we do not carry the same one and the same 0 ?
The HRDDAC Helixir has a phase locked loop digital control, guaranteeing perfect SPDIF stream synchronization, without confusion of 1 and 0 independently of the cable used.

« Advanced Natural Digital Filter »is an important step forward in terms of digital processing dedicated to the human auditory system, with excellent image rejection spectrum of images without compromising signal readability. It uses two powerful DSP running at over 98MHz. Their synchronization it is guaranteed by registered lines directly on the PCB.
The High Resolution DITHER Technologies allows, in addition to a greatly facilitated reproducibility, the reproduction of micro details of the signal despite the addition of a digital noise. This may seem paradoxical, but through this process, we finally mastered the spectral distribution output analog modulators. This is a significant breakthrough in the field of digital to analog conversion commonly used in the mastering studio.
A Digital Phase Locked Loop with 32Bits depth allows a perfect synchronization of the SPDIF flow and cleans it of any jitter, while ensuring optimum reading of the data frame. The generated reference clock has a remarkable spectral purity with a high jitter performance of less than 20ps.
The HRDDAC supports DSD x64 in SDIF2 or SDIF3 format. The selection is automatic, using “RAW” format
A power supply type “shunt” in pure Class A, a reference ultra low noise voltage, a gain of 120dB control loop, a large quantity of capacitors, an optimized design with small islands masses, give our equivalent analogue systems a lead battery with an energy margin of a factor of 10.
Printed maps are subject to all care of Helixir ™. In addition to using a copper with a purity of 99.99%, we use a new method to deposit electrolitically Gold, without it being deposited in pyramids. The spread of the signal on the card can be in optimal conditions.
Cryogenic processing makes a perfect crystallization of materials allowing to extract the essence, either in conductance or in terms of wave propagation purity. Many components as well our circuit undergo this treatment.
